Jen Taylor, LPC, wants to give clients something that often isn’t found in the regular world—she gives people a truly safe place to be their authentic selves. As humans who experience trials, mistakes and sufferings, Jen helps clients see that those experiences do not define who they are. Rather, she leads people through a judgment-free journey where they come out seeing even more clearly who God wants them to be.
With a true passion for understanding people, Jen really loves working with the family system, and works most often with individuals, children and adolescents. She believes that working within a family is a kind of preventative work that helps catch issues early on and nurtures people at a younger age to avert major issues as adults. Jen also enjoys working with couples and entering into the relational aspect because she believes relationships have such an effect on who we become.
Jen helps clients on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, personality, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), emotional dysregulation, hoarding or behavioral needs. She helps equip parents with parenting techniques and interventions that benefit families.
The field of mental health has always been a huge passion and a strong and natural draw for Jen, and she has spent much of her professional career in social services, overseeing the assessment and treatment of clients based on their unique needs.
Jen believes that counselors are called to mimic the same love that God gives to us, with unconditional positive regard. She knew she wanted to combine her faith through her counseling, and Steeple provided an opportunity for her to do just that. A member of The Orchard in Arlington Heights, Jen is married and a mom of three.
