Rensy Mathew, LCPC,NCC believes that true healing occurs within the context of relationships, through secure attachment with both God and others. Her prayer for every client who enters the counseling space is that they would feel safe, loved, known, and seen, all of which ultimately come from Jesus.
Rensy’s heart is to enter into the brokenness of others, meeting them in the pain that results from living in a fallen world, and to shine hope even into the darkest places. She desires for each client to be reminded that God is not done with them, that He is faithfully working in unseen ways to redeem what is broken. Deeply committed to caring for those who are hurting, she gently guides clients toward discovering their God-given design and flourishing as mage-bearers of Christ.
Rensy enjoys working with children, teenagers, and young adults from all walks of life. She has experience supporting clients through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relational conflict, school-related concerns, spiritual struggles, body image, life transitions, etc. Rensy meets each client where they are and walks alongside them in their unique journey toward healing and freedom. She draws from various therapeutic modalities and often incorporates Christian faith into sessions.
Before joining Steeple, Rensy served in Christian school settings providing counseling for children and teens, worked with adolescents in the foster care system, and supported adult survivors of human trafficking.
Rensy earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Moody Theological Seminary. She also holds a Lay Counseling Certificate from the Biblical Counseling Center. Rensy is a member of Redemption Bible Church, where she serves as a vocalist on the worship team, a youth group leader, and in The Pantry ministry. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending intentional time with others and worshiping through engaging in musical abilities.
